Unlikely beginnings

As part of a design test for one of the agencies I applied to, I was told to redesign the homepage of Rotten Tomatoes, keeping in mind various user journeys. I enjoyed working on it so much that I decided to add it to my portfolio. So here it is!

No matter the size of the project, I always start from a prototype. I usually sketch it on paper first, so that I can quickly try different layouts, and then move onto a prototyping tool. In this case I just created a wireframe in Sketch.

Design details

I took care not just of the homepage itself, but also interactive hovers and other elements that show up on overlays, such as megamenu and search. This way I was able to present the whole experience better.

I've definitely enjoyed working on this redesign and I'm happy with the final result. Who knows, maybe I should take it a step further and work on some more pages? I wish it wasn't just a concept, though, as I'd love to see it live.
